‘한숨’ (han-seum) ‘sigh’

There is something wonderful in a sigh. The long intake of breath, the slight pause before release. Each sigh is so full of emotions ranging from relief to sorrow, anxiety to anger.

As you let it out, there is a sense of relief no matter the reason why the sigh occurred. The breath taking with you the stresses of the world back into the world.

In Korean a sigh is simply translated as one or single breath. We’ve all heard our parents give us that sigh of disappointment and exasperation and we’ve all had those sighs as the weight of the world has been lifted from our shoulders.

The best is a sigh right before a smile and a chuckle. So no matter how you’re feeling today take a deep breath and let it out.
